May (06) see item 11 below.  River Boat Cruising on a small boat is something to be tried by every cruise lover. It’s intimate sailing along the river banks open you up to views of the working world of European villages and miles of wine vineyards.  The scenery is completely different than what is experienced from the large cruise ships.   Just to see the shore on both sides of the boat with its beautiful sites is nice, but to make 1 or 2 stops in different villages along the way is super.
Disembarking for a tour is fun and going on tours of the towns day and night is even better. You meet interesting people on board and off.  At night you can get on and off all you want because you are docked all night. This gives you extra time to shop, have local food and of course drink the local wines and beers in the pubs and street cafes.  By the end of the cruise you know the names of shipmates.
It’s a must do.

OCEANS AWEIGH INC has been selected by SANDALS & BEACHES RESORTS to be part of a special group of travel professionals, referred to as “PREFERED SANDALS & BEACHES AGENCY”.  So what does that mean?  It means that out of the 36,000 travel agencies in the U.S. only 500 will hold this title.  It was our vast knowledge of their fabulous resorts, by going to ALL the resorts and inspecting as well as trying out all aspects of the resorts that earned us this great honor. We had to sleep in the 4 post King beds, enjoy sitting on the balconies which are in most of the rooms, drink at the swim-up pool bar and other bars too, see the shows, enjoy the steam-rooms & sauna and even get a massage at the Red Lane Spas.  It was a hard job but Terry & I were up to the challenge!  You should take the challenge; you’ll love it as much as we did.  Sandals is the Ultra All-Inclusive Resorts for Couples only, Beaches is the Family & friends resort with the same high quality service, but geared to adults and children.

7 New security regulations at all airports. As everyone knows travel today is more time consuming because of the ever changing security requirements of the T.S.A. (Transportation Safety Administration). All travelers must go through a TSA security check at the airports and cruise terminals. Check our website for the latest changes. oceansaweigh.com

8 As of January 8, 2007, A Passport will be required for all U.S. travelers to leave or enter the U.S.A. by air or sea. Yes, even on the cruise we will be on for my 60th birthday! Go to our website for the latest changes. oceansaweigh.com

Sharing our last few trips with you is always a pleasure for us.

2006:
October was Sandals Grande St Lucian.  There are three Sandals Resorts on St Lucia to play at, even as you stay at one, and we did. The eight of us spent most of our time at the main swim up pool bar enjoying the sun, talk, fun, and lots of drink.  Wine with dinner or a mud slide if you want it.  I went scuba diving 3 times this trip.  Yes, I am a certified PADI INTERNATIONAL SCUBA DIVER.  If I can do it then so can you!  I got My certification at Sandals Whitehouse a year ago April. I love to dive.  So far I am up to 13 dives in the last 4 years of doing it.  At Sandals all the drinks, food, fun, Diving ($70 fee for resort certification is extra) non-motorized water sports, shows and more are included.

September was a cruise to celebrate Mary’s Retirement.  An 8 night cruise on the NCL Spirit r/t
NYC. Freestyle Cruising is the best way to Sail.  You pick from 10 different restaurants each night and
eat at the time YOU feel like.  No set dining room, table or time to eat.  At the end of the cruise you
may stay in your cabin until time to disembark.  No going to a public space to wait 2 hours for your
disembark time.  Try it and we are sure you will like it.  Mikey did.

June was a 5 night trip to Jamaica with my daughter Christine.  It was business.  We stayed at
Sandals Nigril for 3 nights and inspected Beaches Sandy Bay & Beaches Nigril.  Did 2 dives here.
Then changed Resorts to Sandals Montego Bay which is close to the airport.  Here we took a trip over
to Sandals Royal Caribbean for dinner on their private island, food was great.  Did 1 dive at Mo Bay.

May was the trip to Egypt.  Non-stop air from JFK into Cairo.  Four and five star hotels, inter
Egypt flights and tours were all done by Egypt tours.  It was breathtaking.  Not only did we see and touch the pyramids but we went inside them.  Into the pharos tombs and experienced the thrill of being there 5000 years ago.

February was a 12 night cruise on NCL’s Norwegian Dawn (been on the Dawn 3 times and can’t
wait to go in April for my birthday).  No diving but I did buy my wife a 5-caret bracelet in St Thomas,
which almost sunk me. She is worth it!  The Dawn was the first ship to sail year-round from NYC,
that’s what I call commitment on the part of NCL to us.  NCL will be adding a second ship year-round
for even better destination and lengths of sailings. Call us for your next NO AIR cruise.

2005:

October was our 1st riverboat cruise.  What a way to start a whole new way of cruising. We did it in Germany, by sailing on a 162 passenger Riverboat down the Main-Danube Canal, Main, Rhine, and Moselle Rivers. The combination of land and river touring is something everyone must try!  We docked once or twice each day or night, toured at each stop, and was able to get off and explore the quaint villages and towns along the rivers.  The people were very friendly and the shopping was unique.  We had time to find a few beer halls and in wine country, tasted the fruits of their labors; all of us enjoyed lots of both.  It was something, sailing past miles and miles of wine vineyards and over 100 castles
along the way.  Enjoying the waterways and people who live and work on them.  You don’t gain weight on this cruise/tour.  Breakfast lunch and dinner are included on board and some meals during the land portion. No 24-hour food spots.  Good walking in most stops, some places were a bit hilly but not much or steep.  The history and restoration of the villages is astounding, it’s like stepping back in time.  I could go on for hours but paper and print is not the way to learn, seeing in person is the best way.  Call us or join us on our next combination Land & River Cruise through Holland, Germany, France and Switzerland.  Best of the Rhine River Cruise-Tour is coming this August 9, 2007  You don’t want
to miss it, 12 days and lots of sights and experiences await you.  Call 718 714 4789 or check us out online at oceansaweigh.com 24/7

We Hope You Enjoyed Sharing Our Trips With Us; We Enjoyed Working & Being With You.

What is a Good Time Cruiser (GTC)?  YOU ARE!  GTC’s was started when Terry & I put together
a cruise for a bunch of friends to Bermuda, back in the seventies.  We called ourselves the “Bermuda
Cruisers”.   The name changed to the Good Time Cruisers after we started traveling to other places and
doing some land trips.  This is how OCEANS AWEIGH INC got our motto Good Time Cruisers
Cruising “The Land” And “The Sea”.  When anybody travels with us or on a trip booked through
OAW, you become a part of this Great Group of people who enjoy traveling and having fun doing it.
If you never were on a trip with us as a group, you are missing out on a lot.  Most times it’s much
better to travel with friends then alone.  Join one of our groups and see what I am talking about.
Check out my 60th Birthday Cruise and/or The Holland, Germany, France, & Switzerland, combination
Riverboat and Land Tour.  Go to our website
